How are they made?

Each one of our organic cot mattresses is certified organic by the Soil Association, and is handmade here in the UK to the highest quality standards following three main stages.

The springy core of coconut coir, bound together with natural latex (sap from the Hevea tree), is first measured and cut to size (we can make any sized baby mattress!). This coconut fibre centre acts like thousands of tiny springs, helping to better distribute your baby’s weight across the entire cot mattress and reduce the risk of sagging.
Three thick layers of organic welsh wool is then wrapped around each side of the core of coconut coir. Each layer of organic wool creates the perfect support for your baby, absorbing moisture and preventing the growth of any harmful bacteria. As a natural fire retardant, the organic wool also helps in making our cot mattresses fireproof, naturally.
Finally, the cot mattress is finished with a 100% organic cotton cover, enabling the cot mattress to breathe more easily and reduce the risk of over-heating.
