In a Nutshell...
No more skinny foam mattresses! Made to fit our Maize Moses Basket, our Natural Moses Basket mattresses are handmade and 100% chemical-free, and offer a medium-firm support that is recommended for newborn babies.
32x66cm to fit most Moses Baskets. As a natural fire retardant, using wool means that there is no need for any fire proofing chemicals, and each moses basket mattress conforms to UK fireproofing regulations (BS 7177) naturally.
The durable, non-removable cotton cover is water resistant, however we advise that you must use a mattress protector
to keep your mattress clean and dry for longer.
What I'm made of...
- Coconut fibres from the husk of coconuts that are bound with natural latex (sap from the Hevea tree); giving each moses basket mattress the good support required as well as ensuring a long-lasting shape.
Natural fleece wool
- Breathable wool layers help the mattress to breathe easily, naturally dispersing moisture for a clean and dry environment that reduces the risk of dust mites and bacterial growth.
- A luxurious, non-removable and durable Herringbone cotton cover holds everything in place whilst ensuring that the mattress is still breathable. The cotton used has not been treated with any bleaches, dyes or pesticides.
ALWAYS use a waterproof mattress protector
. Our mattresses are water resistant but not waterproof, and so using a waterproof mattress protector will help prolong the life of your mattress and help protect against dust mites.
We recommend turning your mattress every 3 months
Your mattress should be ventilated once a week perhaps during the time when the bedding is washed. Remove sheets and opened the bedroom window to evaporate any built up moisture
Every 3 months, take the mattress to a dry place (ideally outside), and beat the surface to remove any dust, keeping it nice and clean
Alternatively, vacuuming your mattress can help reduce the risk of dust mites
If your mattress is soiled, lightly sponge the cover with a mild detergent and air until completely dry
